BIOGRAPHY
On days like these you look around you, observing your enviroment just to realize that insanity has taken shape. In you. In the others. In all of us. And you know that the only way to get rid of insanity is to set it free...

Uncut Despite have taken that as their quest. Since their foundation, Cassel's sickest band is raging through their region, splitting up the masses with their mixture out of US-death, grindcore, doom-metal and blues/jazz-spasms. Uncut Despite are fighting at all fronts, free of any kind of genre chains. Brutality meets aesthetics, the disguise of human natur meets the beauty of nature. Lyrically, they also outspoken, spitting the world's failures right into its face without take themselves to serious.

Founded through keyboarder Yann Mahlmann and vocalist Sascha Kaiser in late 2002, the first line-up was completed through Stefan Sundheim (drums), Karsten Goebel (guitar) and Dennis Hirth (bass) in October 2003. Soon the first 5-track-demo was finished with the professional help of their hometown-colleagues of Gutlock. But Uncut Despite wanted more, especially more pressure. So they pulled Mario Mrozik on board, playing the second guitar.

Before being able to put themselves through, Karsten quit the band quite suprisingly for personal reasons. The recording for the first longplayer were postponed again. But after playing several gigs in the whole country with bands like Hate Squad, Totenmond, Jack Slater, Hexenhammer, Lifthrasil, Human Paranoid, My Cold Embrace and more, Uncut Despite entered the studio in May 2005. In the cosy village Gudensberg-Dissen "Evolution Reverse" was born with the help of producer Michael Beneken. Musical lunacy combined with philosophical approaches packe dup in 35 minutes. The record was officially released on Aug. 24th 2005.

With their first album the band started travelling again, and Karsten returned. But the evil tidings continued. At the end of 2005, Yann announced his retirement. That was a complete shock for the whole band, posing a difficult problem: Continue, yes or no? With, our with out keyboards?

But the solution was found quite soon, and they definetely decided to continue. Uncut Despite took a short break to meet again in early 2006. Being a quintet once again, they seemed to get back on track though the way was rough. But destiny finally took its toll on the band. Karsten was forced to quite due to job-related reasons, and the remaining four deceided to let Uncut Despite die in dignity.
